Our Inspiration for the Dole Promises we are making

Steeped in almost 170 years of Japanese history, Sampo Yoshi’s interdependent concept of Triple Satisfaction meaning “good for the seller, good for the buyer, and good for society” is what has inspired the Dole Promises we are making.

By treating every component of a business exchange as a symbiotic, mutually beneficial transactions, all three pillars are successful. This has shaped how we ensure each of our promises are interdependent, contributing to better people, planet and prosperity, together. Knowing that when one thrives, all do.

Our Purpose

Since our humble, yet mission-driven beginnings almost 170 years ago, Dole has believed that good, healthy food should be more like sunshine – available for all.

This is why our rallying cry of “Sunshine for All” is important not only for us, but for all people across the world. We want to champion an equitable world where everyone – irrespective of age, income, location, race or gender – has access to healthy nutrition, but where this access does not come at the cost of the planet.
