Dried Fruits

Do you market Muscat raisins?
Dole does not market Muscat raisins. You might check with your local grocer or a specialty food shop to see if they stock these raisins or will order them from a company that does market them.

How do I know if I can still use the product?
DOLE products sold in the U.S.A. feature a "best if used by" date that guarantees the best quality and flavor up to that date. We do not recommend using a product after the "best if used by" date, because the taste and texture may not be typical of the fine Dole quality.

How do I plump dried fruit for use in recipes?
We recommend that you put the desired amount of dried fruit in a saucepan and completely cover with water. Bring the mixture to a boil; then remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Drain and use the plumped fruit in your favorite Dole recipe.

Is it necessary to refrigerate dried fruits after opening?
It is not necessary to refrigerate DOLE Raisins and Dates after opening. We do recommend refrigeration to extend the shelf life of the product once the seal has been broken. Either way, the product should remain fresh until the "Best if Used By Date."

What can I do if I am unable to find my favorite DOLE Dried Fruit product?
Every effort is made to provide as wide a selection of DOLE products as possible in stores across the country. If you can't find what you are looking for, it is important to let your store manager know. Ask the manager to see if the product can be obtained from the store's warehouse. If it is not available, this is your opportunity to let the store know you would like to be able to purchase it from them. Although we would like to see all of our products carried by every store, regional preferences vary and, as a result, your favorite product may be available only in certain areas.

Why are DOLE Raisins more plump and more moist than other raisins?
Only DOLE Raisins are "spa treated." After the grapes are picked, they are bathed in warm water. The grapes are then put into drying tunnels for about 24 hours, resulting in consistently more plump and moist raisins. All other raisin brands are sun-dried, which means that after the grapes are picked, they are laid on paper trays on the ground. The grapes are then left for two to three weeks to dry into raisins. Because DOLE Raisins are "spa treated," they are a favorite among consumers and are one of our most complimented product!

How do I store DOLE Raisins and Dates?
Before opening, store these dried fruit products in a cool, dry place. After opening, close the bag tightly (or reseal bag or carton) and store in the refrigerator.
